Patient Details
This 56-year-old patient had been considering breast reduction for over 20 years due to large, heavy breasts that were causing discomfort and difficulty with clothing and daily activities. She was approximately a 34 DDD/E and desired to be as small as safely possible while maintaining a natural breast shape.
She underwent breast reduction surgery using a wise pattern skin excision technique to remove excess breast tissue and skin while reshaping and lifting the breasts. Her anatomy includes some sternal tenting, which was discussed preoperatively and is a normal structural feature that can become more visible after reduction as the breasts become lighter and more elevated.
The result is a significantly smaller, lighter, and more proportional breast shape that better fits her frame and lifestyle.
This procedure was performed by Dr. Traci Temmen in Tampa, Florida. This case highlights how breast reduction can dramatically improve comfort and body balance for patients with long-standing macromastia.
